The shipyard C.N.P. Freire, S.A. (Freire Shipyard) held in Vigo the launch ceremony of the diving support vessel, hull number 739, built for the Armada Logistics Support Command: A22 Proserpina.

The vessel combines ecofriendly technology with the capability for deep and prolonged underwater operations.

The new diving support vessel replaces the veteran Proserpina and strengthens the Spanish Navy’s diving capabilities.

The A22 Proserpina incorporates eco-friendly technologies to optimize fuel consumption and reduce emissions. Its main features include a dynamic positioning system (DP2) and a three-anchor mooring system.

Fluidmecánica has designed and manufactured the three anchor windlasses for Ø20.5 mm chain, as well as the hydraulic drive unit for this equipment, all this equipment is certified by Lloyd’s Register.

Furthermore, Fluidmecanica will supplied the hydraulic crane, mooring and recovery winches, and the sonar winch.
