The sea trials of two new Russian ice-breakers are being held in Murmansk.
Two new dream ice-breaking vessels, the Vladivostok and the Murmansk, arrived in the capital of the Subarctic to complete their sea trials. Partially they will be held in the aquatic area of the Kola Bay, and later in the Kara Sea. The ROSSIYA 24 channel shooting team visited one of the vessels.

Two most powerful Russian ice-breakers came to Murmansk to complete their long sea trials. It is necessary to give a try to the huge two-drum winch whose mission is to tow the vessels during convoying in ice.

The Vladivostok was launched at the Vyborg shipyard in 2014. The ice-breaker is designed for pilotage of the large-capacity vessels and tankers in the frozen water areas, risk and rescue operations on the floating facilities and assisting the vessels under the ice conditions. She belongs to the famous family of the ice-breakers started by the Moskva lead-ship and her sister-ship Sankt Peterburg built in the middle of 2000 – 2009.
