The Vigo University has made new explorations around the “Gran Burato” with the help of a robot remote operated provided by the ACSM Company.

Fluidmecanica has supplied to ACSM the LARS davit for this robot.

According to declarations of the Mission Coordinator and Professor of Marine Geology, Daniel Rey, “The area is very extensive and therefore it is very difficult to sampling with dredges. The robot will allow us a more intelligent than systematic approximation. Is like if we tried to know the content of a room looking at pictures of it or taking out things.”

With the mini-submarine, the surface of dozens of smaller “Buratos” will be crawled, these “buratos” may be leaking gas stored at greater depth.
