Kincardine, the world’s largest floating offshore wind farm is being developed by Kincardine Offshore Wind, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pilot Offshore Renewables (POR), while Cobra Wind, for its part, is responsible for the engineering, design, supply, construction and commissioning.
It consists of one 2MW Vestas turbine and five 9.5 MW Vestas turbines, installed at water depths between 60 and 80 meters. Each of the five turbines is flagged by the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) and built to ABS Class standards. ABS worked closely with the RMI to determine applicable IMO requirements and conducted reviews as a Recognized Organization of the RMI.
Fluidmecánica has supplied five rotary winches and has successfully carried out the commissioning of the same on platforms KIN01, KIN02, KIN03, KIN04 and KIN05.
